Selection headaches: Coley

13 September 2018

John Coleman admits he has selection headaches ahead of Saturday's trip to Fleetwood.

Coleman has a fully fit squad to choose from including his seven loan players – he can only play five in a matchday squad.

“I don't think I have ever had such strength in depth since I have been at the club,” said Coleman. “I have got seven loan players and I swore I wouldn't do that but needs must as I had to prepare for every eventuality with the transfer window closing earlier.

“It's not ideal but my hands were tied with the transfer window closing at the beginning and not the end of August.

“I don't want to appear a moaning Minnie and we just have to deal with the things we can control although more and more things are becoming out of our control.

“We have a good set of players here and I have never had the chance to have three strikers on the bench like we had on Saturday.

“I have never had three good strikers on the bench and then we have a couple of good ones sat in the stand. That's pleasing and going forward it will help us.

“I have a strong squad and the hardest decision last Saturday was picking the bench spots. They are at a premium let alone the starting XI.

“It is hard for those not getting in the squad but we have got to keep them involved and keep the momentum going.”
