Sean McConville believes the Reds have shown they have adjusted to life in League One.
Stanley have lost just one league game this season – the opener at home to Gillingham – and have chalked up some strong results.
Stanley's latest result was a 1-1 draw at Fleetwood - a game they should have won on chances made.
“If you look at Fleetwood, they went to Sunderland last week and deserved to win and Sunderland are supposedly one of the best teams in this league.
“They have gone and dominated at Sunderland, we dominated against Fleetwood on Saturday and, if that's the yardstick to go by, we will be fine this season
“We will not just be fine but as a squad, as staff, the world is our oyster, we can do something in this league, we believe that.
“We aren't settling for just staying up, we want to be a surprise package like we were last year, and really do something.
“The belief has grown. Stepping up you don't know what to expect, everyone doesn't know what to expect, it's a massive step but we have taken to it really well but we have got to start turning draws into wins.”
