Danny Hylton scored a hat-trick as Stanley suffered a 4-1 loss at Luton - but the Reds remain in fourth place in League One.
It was only the third league defeat of the season for John Coleman's side against a Hatters side who are yet to lose at Kenilworth Road this season.
Offrande Zanzala scored for the Reds and hit the bar - but it was Hylton who stole the show.
Stanley haven't gone behind many times this season but it was the Hatters who struck first on five minutes. The home side broke quickly and James Justin played in a cross to striker Hylton who fired home at the far post.
The Reds came close to equalising on 15 minutes but keeper James Shea kept out a Zanzala header.
However they were level on 27 minutes when Callum Johnson's superb ball in from the right wing found Zanzala at the far post and the striker headed low past Shea. It's the in-form striker's fifth goal in six games.
Mark Hughes had to make some crucial blocks while the face of Billy Kee kept out an Andrew Shinnie effort - the striker needed minor treatment.
In added time, Luton looked to increase their advantage as the ball came to James Collins on the edge of the area but he couldn't find a way past Jonny Maxted.
There was a fracas in the tunnel on the stroke of half-time and both benches were shown a yellow card at the start of the second half by referee Chris Sarginson.
Then two goals in three minutes gave Luton a clear lead.
On 52 minutes, Shinnie pounced on a loose pass from the back and fired home from distance and, on 54 minutes, Shinnie raced to the by-line and passed back to Hylton to double his tally for the game.
Stanley tried to find a way back with Shea denying Sean McConville and Jordan Clark's follow-up was blocked.
It was an end-to-end feisty encounter but it was Luton who struck next. A 70th minute Jorge Grant free kick into the danger area was headed across goal by Glen Rea and Hylton pounced to celebrate his hat-trick.
Zanzala thought he had got a second on 74 minutes from a Dan Barlaser cross but his header crashed against the crossbar.
Shea denied McConville twice in the final minutes and Rea came close to an own goal while, at the other end, Maxted kept out a Collins strike after Luton broke in numbers.
Unlike last season, there was no late heroics as Stanley left Luton empty-handed.
