Coley up for Luton

22 October 2018

John Coleman says last season's injury time win over Luton will have no bearing on tomorrow night's clash at Kenilworth Road.

Coleman's fourth placed side travel to the Hatters, who are in seventh spot, after the two challenged for the League Two title last season.

Billy Kee scored a late, late goal at Luton which virtually sealed the championship for Accrington.

Luton are managed by Nathan Jones and are currently four points behind the Reds.

"It was the first time I have found myself in the middle of a pitch during a game after Billy scored," said Coleman.

"I think that moment defined our season - after the Farsley Celtic UniBond First Division title win in 1999, that's my second favourite moment.

"They said they should have won the league last season but I don't mind that. I have often thought we should have finished higher than we have so, if Nathan Jones believes that, then I don't mind.

"We go there with nothing to fear but we also respect them. They are a strong side and they have good players.

"Nathan Jones is a good forward-thinking manager and, as a club, they have the finances to really kick on. They could do well in the Championship with the money they would get from it and the increase in fan base."
