West Brom U21 test

5 November 2018

John Coleman knows he can't do much homework on tomorrow's Checkatrade Trophy opponents West Brom's U21 side – so he is just concentrating on the Reds.

Stanley won their opening group game against Macclesfield while the Baggies youngsters beat Blackpool. Coleman's side face West Brom at the Wham Stadium with a 7.45pm kick off.

“It's difficult to prepare as we do not know what kind of side they will put out,” said Coleman. “We will watch their game against Blackpool and that's the only way we can really judge them. They will have a style of play so we can work from that.

“All we can do is concentrate on ourselves. We played really well against Macclesfield in the first game and we have to try and replicate that performance.

“I have a strong squad so I won't be weakening the team whoever I play and we always play the same way, we are open as far as that's concerned.

“We will need every player in the squad before the end of the season and this helps to integrate them to make sure they are ready when the time comes.”

Tickets remain available to purchase from the Wham Stadium, priced £5 for adults/concessions/12-17-year-olds and just £2 for Under 12s.
