Coventry scored a late equaliser to deny Stanley all three points at the Ricoh Arena.
Offrande Zanzala gave the Reds a 58th minute lead but Michael Doyle struck with three minutes left to rescue a point for Coventry - although Stanley did deny the Sky Blues a record-equalling six straight league wins.
Chances were at a premium in the open stages with Coventry coming the closest as a Doyle corner was headed over the bar by dangerman Jordy Hiwula on 19 minutes.
Jordan Clark tested Lee Burge soon after but his low shot was comfortable for the keeper.
It was end-to-end without clear cut chances until Stanley keeper Connor Ripley had to produce a superb save to keep out Conor Chaplin, tipping his strike over the bar on 33 minutes.
Stanley were pressing and Clark was unlucky, after a one-two with Billy Kee, the ball came to him off former Red Tom Davies and Clark's shot hit the crossbar on 36 minutes.
It was goalless at the break but Stanley made a lively start to the second half with Zanzala and Billy Kee both having early chances blocked.
Kee tested Burge with a deflected effort from the edge of the box as Stanley look for the opener while they were on top.
And it came from Zanzala on 58 minutes - his sixth goal of the season. Callum Johnson won the ball in midfield and threaded the ball to the striker who found space and fired home.
Luke Thomas looked to reply immediately for Coventry but Ripley dived low to deny him while Piero Mingoia curled a shot narrowly over the bar for the Reds.
Stanley's defence had to stand firm while Coventry looked for the equaliser with Hiwula and Jordan Willis both having goalbound shots blocked.
However, on 87 minutes, Ripley couldn't hold onto a fierce strike from Jodi Jones and Doyle slotted home to make it 1-1.
Clark was denied a winner in injury-time by Burge as Stanley finished the day in sixth place in League One.
