New deals for Chappy and Brown

14 May 2018

Accrington Stanley have offered contracts to first team regulars Scott Brown and Aaron Chapman.

Midfielder Brown has been at Stanley since 2016 and played a pivotal role in helping the Reds clinch the historic League Two title this season.

Keeper Aaron Chapman won the Sky Bet League Two Golden Glove award for keeping 18 clean sheets – the Reds kept 19 in total – and only missed two league games all season.

The club will be exercising its options to extend the contracts of midfielder Liam Nolan, defenders Mark Hughes, Ben Richards-Everton and Ross Sykes and winger Erico Sousa.

Danny Williams has also been offered a new deal while second year scholar Niall Watson will be offered his first professional contract.

Manager John Coleman has released two players from the squad.

Winger Mekhi McLeod made 15 appearances for the Reds after signing in the summer last year but has spent time out on loan during the second half of the season.

Akeel Francis, signed in January, hasn't made an appearance for the Reds and will leave when his short-term deal ends in June.

Jimmy Dunne, Offrande Zanzala and Charlie Rowan have returned to their parent clubs.
