John Coleman admits he is disappointed Aaron Chapman has left Accrington Stanley – but has ‘wheels in motion' for a replacement.
Chapman joined fellow League One side Peterborough in the summer after winning the League Two Golden Glove award for keeping 18 clean sheets last season.
Jonny Maxted was signed in January from Guiseley and played one game for the Reds – keeping a clean sheet – in the historic season.
“I am disappointed when any player leaves,” said Coleman. “He was going to be offered a new contract but we can't compete with the money Peterborough has to offer.
“I like Aaron, he is a great character and great personality and I wish him all the best. I think staying here would have been a better move for him.
“Jonny is a great keeper but we know we can't just have one keeper and Aaron will be replaced.
“We already have the wheels in motion to sort that out and it's something I am not worried about.”
