Four or five new signings: Coley

25 May 2018

John Coleman says there will be ‘four or five' new signings for Stanley's historic season in League One.

The Reds have the bulk of the championship-winning squad under contract and Coleman is hoping to keep hold of them – saying he has three or four ‘million pound players.'

And he is looking to add to the squad than lose any more, after out-of-contract keeper Aaron Chapman signed for Peterborough.

“We have the bulk of the squad already and we probably need four or five players to strengthen and hopefully we will get them for pre-season," said Coleman.

“There will be a couple of loan players in there and that's a bit of a grey area as clubs higher up the league do not want to send them out straight away but we want the right ones even if we have to wait for a couple of weeks.

“If teams come in for our players then they will cost a lot. We are not talking £200,000 or £300,000, we are talking millions now.

“If we get millions rather than hundreds of thousands it will make a huge difference to us and can help us take our infra structure even further.

“We have got three or four players who can easily play in the championship and be a success in the championship and teams will have to pay what they are worth. We won't stand in anyone's way but it has to be at the right price."
