Erico Sousa celebrated a new one-year deal with the Reds by firing home two goals in their 3-0 win at Hyde United last night.
Stanley had already taken out the one-year option on the midfielder but have instead offered him an improved new one-year contract, with a one-year option, which started this month.
Sousa has hit the ground running this pre-season, winning praise for his performance in Saturday's 3-2 win at Shelley and then scoring a double at Ewen Fields in front of boss John Coleman.
"It's my second 90 minutes and I am happy to get the minutes in, get my fitness in and I was glad to score two goals as well," said the 23-year-old.
"The second was on my weak foot, my left foot, so I am glad it went in.
"Obviously last season I was on the bench a lot which isn't easy but you can't complain when the team won the league. Hopefully I played my part by pushing them to do better.
"I will be working my hardest this season to try and get more game-time. If I am on the bench, or even if I am not, I will keep pushing to get in the team.
"There is a lot of competition in midfield but I am glad the gaffer has seen my talent and hard work to offer me a new contract."
