Coventry 0 Stanley 2

10 February 2018

Jordan Clark's double fired Accrington Stanley second in Sky Bet League Two in front of a league record attendance at Coventry City.

28, 343 were inside the Ricoh Arena, as Clark struck in both halves to ensure Stanley left with all three points, following a dominant performance by the Reds.

In truth, it could have been more, Billy Kee was inches away with a first-half header, before striking the bar with a free-kick in the second.

A bumper crowd packed inside the Ricoh Arena, creating a tremendous atmosphere as both sides took to the field on a wet afternoon.

But, that crowd was stunned into silence after just five minutes, when Clark tapped Stanley into an early lead, following a superb run and cross from Callum Johnson down the left hand side. The winger applying a calm finish for his sixth goal of the season.

Stanley were zipping the ball around confidently, Billy Kee twice going close with his head from Johnson corners, as the Reds looked to make their early dominance count.

They continued to frustrate the home side who came closest through Marc McNulty's strike from distance, which could only find the side netting, as Stanley took their 1-0 lead into the break.

There was almost an another dream Accrington start to the half, this time Kee could only crash a free-kick off the crossbar in the 47th minute, inches from his 20th goal of the season.

Stanley didn't have to wait much longer though, on the stroke of the hour Jackson found Clark in acres of space, the winger advanced into the box before slotting home his second of game, sparking memorable celebrations in front of the 513 travelling supporters.

Attendance: 28, 343
