'Buzz and excitement': Coley

6 February 2018

John Coleman is hoping the fans come out in force tonight and thrive on the ‘buzz and excitement' of night matches.

The promotion-chasing Reds take on seventh placed Swindon as Stanley look to move into second spot.

Coleman has called it a ‘pivotal week' in the Stanley season after they beat Stevenage last Saturday, face Swindon tonight and then travel to another promotion hopeful Coventry on Saturday.

“I love night matches,” said Coleman. “I love all football and the buzz and excitement as we go all out for the win.

“Our fans are great, the players thrive on it and the return of banners and flags will boost the atmosphere at the Wham Stadium as well.

“We want to make Accrington Stanley an enjoyable part of their lives and playing attractive football will help with this.”

Stanley's run-in sees them take on fellow promotion-chasers Exeter, Wycombe, Lincoln and more as they look to achieve their goal of automatic promotion.

"I say bring it on," said Coleman. "We take on a lot of our rivals in the run-in but we don't fear anyone and we do tend to perform better against the better teams.

"We have got to make it so teams do not want to play us, if teams fear us it's a sign of how far we have come."

Win, lose or draw, Stanley's players go into the Sports Bar after the game and Coleman says this is helping the excitement around the ground.

“It's back to the feeling that we are all in it together," he added.
