Accrington Stanley have signed Rotherham defender Michael Ihiekwe on loan until January.
The centre-back, 25, has come with a wealth of experience having played in the Conference to League One, and will wear Stanley's No.4 shirt.
"I am delighted to be here, Accrington have obviously had a successful few years and I can't wait to get started," said Ihiekwe.
Liverpool-born Ihiekwe started his career at with his hometown club as an 11-year-old, staying at Anfield until he was 17.
He went to Wolves where he played at youth level, before moving on loan to Cheltenham where he made his league debut in League Two at Plymouth before a permanent switch to Tranmere in League Two.
"It was hard as in my first season we were relegated to the Conference, it was my first experience of playing regularly in that league and it was hard to take.
"The season after we got to the Play-Offs and I played at Wembley but we lost to Forest Green. It was a great experience despite the defeat.
"I then got a move to Rotherham in League One in 2017 and again we got to the Play-Offs at Wembley.
"I played the first 15 or so games and then came out of the team, I got back in again and played at the end of the season but then got injured before Wembley.
"This season was hard as they have gone up into the Championship and there was a lot more competition for places.
"I wanted to play regularly and was pleased when Accrington came in from me.".
"I am an all-rounder, I came through at Liverpool so I like to pass the ball out from the back but I have played in the lower leagues so I know what they are all about as well."
Manager John Coleman said: "He is proven at this level. I first came across Michael when he was playing for Tranmere and he impressed me.
"We need to strengthen in the defensive area and Michael ticks all the boxes."
