Mark Hughes scored an injury time equaliser to rescue a point at Bloomfield Road.
It looked like Stanley were going to suffer a first defeat on their travels in League One this season after Nathan Delfouneso's 66th minute goal for Pool.
Blackpool keeper Mark Howard and the woodwork denied Stanley before Hughes popped up in injury time - although Connor Ripley did still have to superbly deny Delfouneso in the last seconds of the game.
Ripley was in good form, denying a lively Delfouneso on 12 minutes.
Stanley then pressed with Sean McConville's cross-shot punched away while the winger's 22 yard free kick was caught by Howard.
New loan signing Michael Ihiekwe couldn't connect firmly with a ball at the far post while a Ross Sykes header from six yards out was somehow turned behind on the half hour mark.
Blackpool began to press towards the end of the half and Ripley was in terrific form denying Delfouneso a certain goal from close range and, from the resulting corner, Joe Dodoo fired over in a great position.
Blackpool started on the front foot after the break with Michael Nottingham inches wide while a deflected effort from Ollie Turton was collected by Ripley.
Jay Spearing went close with a volley on 62 minutes and, in a goalmouth scramble, Dodoo had a go and then Delfouneso's strike was somehow blocked.
The pressure finally told on 66 minutes with Delfouneso firing home inside the six yard box after a looping ball in from Jordan Thompson was headed down to the forward - his first goal of the season.
Stanley should have equalised on 76 minutes but keeper Howard denied sub Offrande Zanzala,who had just come on, as the frontman was clean through and then dived low to keep out McConville's follow-up.
Jordan Clark headed against the post on 84 minutes and the follow-up by Hughes could only find the side-netting as it looked like the goal wasn't going to come.
There were big appeals for a penalty when Zanzala went over in injury time but referee Lee Mason was having none of it before a McConville corner was headed in by defender Hughes in front of the travelling fans - his first of the season.
There was still time to Ripley to keep out Delfouneso as the points were shared.
