Assistant manager Jimmy Bell has warned of the dangers of complacency ahead of Stanley's SkyBet League Two clash against Yeovil Town tomorrow (7.45pm).
The Reds have the chance to open up a four-point gap at the top of the table should they win, and victory at the Wham Stadium would guarantee automatic promotion to the third tier next season.
Bell insists that Stanley cannot take the Glovers lightly, and the squad are focused on the next game rather than the league.
“We've got a very tough team in front of us,” said Bell. “We've got no divine right to just blow them away. We'll have to be at our best.
“Yeovil have had a few really good results. They put six past Coventry, they had a great result at Swindon and they should have won the game against Wycombe on Saturday, they hit the post three times. They are an exciting team that can score goals.
“We've got work to do on the training ground and hopefully we'll get the right result. We cannot take our eye of the ball because it's going to be really tough between now and the end of the season.”
Stanley had the chance to complete their promotion push on Saturday but were held to a 1-1 draw by Exeter City, a result that saw the Reds remain unbeaten at home in 2018.
Bell says that the result was certainly a case of one point gained rather than two points dropped.
“It was an absolutely fantastic result,” said Bell. “Don't take anything away from Exeter, who are a really good team, because I thought they played exceptionally well.
“It was always going to be a difficult game and the hype that came along with us possibly winning promotion hindered us a little bit. Exeter had a lot to play for, it was as big a game for them as it was for us.
“I thought it was a fantastic point which kept them 11 points behind us. The crowd were very good, and they have been all season. It really does help, but they're going to have to be patient.
“We've got five attempts at doing this, but we just want to do it. There were a few heart-to-hearts afterwards, and the lads know that we didn't play to our full capability on Saturday, so they'll want to put it right tonight.”
