Stanley Trust launches the 2nd year of the +Sport Move and Learn Project, in partnership with Ferrero and the EFL TrustStanley Trust, Ferrero and the EFL Trust are delighted to announce that they are embarking on the 2nd year of their +Sport Move and Learn partnership in Hyndburn, Ribble valley and Rossendale. The specially designed primary schools programme encourages children to take part in physical activity, while helping them to understand the importance of a balanced diet and an active lifestyle.The +Sport Move and Learn Project is part of Ferrero's global Kinder + Sport CSR initiative that has already encouraged 15 million children across the world to follow an active lifestyle.
Locally, over the course of six weeks, children from year 5 spend time in the classroom learning about the body, nutrition and the importance of exercise, through participating in interactive activities. This is then followed by a session dedicated to playing football, dodgeball or handball, with two weeks spent on each sport.
To date, Stanley Trust has delivered the programme locally in 30 schools, with 1200 children impacted. To build on this success, this year they will be reaching a further 30 schools and another 1200 children.
The first schools taking part this year are: St James Haslingden, St Paul's Oswaldtwistle, Peel Park, St Leonards Langho and St Nicholas' Accrington.

The +Sport Move and Learn Project is a UK in-school programme developed by Ferrero and the EFL Trust as part of Ferrero's global Kinder + Sport initiative.
The programme content has been developed by nutritional and educational and sporting experts in line with the recommendations in the Government's Eatwell Guide and its learning outcomes are in line with the National Curriculum for PSHE and Science.
In 2017/18, the clubs taking part in the programme are Blackburn Rovers; Coventry City; Charlton Athletic; Derby County; Middlesbrough FC; Sheffield United; Watford; Cork City; Celtic FC; Rangers FC; Plymouth Argyle; Brentford; Burton Albion; MK Dons; Notts County; Portsmouth; Rotherham United, Southend United, Fleetwood Town, Accrington Stanley, Cardiff City, Newport County, Colchester United, Exeter City and Leyton Orient; all of whom were part of the programme in 2016/17. New to the programme in 2017/18 are Millwall FC, Bristol Rovers, QPR and Stevenage.
