Accrington Stanley climbed to second place in Sky Bet League Two with a fine 3-0 win at home to Carlisle.
Billy Kee struck early to set the Reds on their way before a stunning brace from Sean McConville either side of half-time, settled it at the Wham Stadium.
The Reds also kept their first clean sheet of the season which will have no doubt delighted manager John Coleman.
Carlisle should have taken an early lead, following good play down the right by Richie Bennett, who cut inside and threaded a ball right across the face of the empty net, but to the Stanley relief no one could make contact to send it goal bound.
The Reds thought they'd taken the lead in the 14th minute when McConville advanced with the ball, cut inside before firing an effort onto the crossbar from 25-yards out, goalkeeper Jack Bonham was rooted to the spot.
But the home side didn't have to wait much longer, just three minutes Kee took full advantage when a Bonham clearance rebounded off a defender straight into his path, racing through one on one with the goalkeeper before calmly slotting Stanley into the lead.
The majority of the first-half raced by without incident, with the wet pitch playing a part, until the 42nd minute when Kayden Jackson broke free before he was clattered by Tom Miller who went into the book.
From the resulting free-kick McConville doubled Stanley's lead, bending a fine strike into the same corner that saw him strike the bar earlier in the half.
Keith Curle made two changes at the break as he tried to get his side back into the game, Gary Liddle and Shaun Miller replaced Tom Miller and Richie Bennett.
But Stanley started where they left off and should have had a third following terrific play by Kee, who threaded a ball for Jackson to run onto but the striker saw his effort smothered by the onrushing Bonham who had raced off his line.
The killer goal did come before the hour-mark though, a superb individual effort from McConville, who picked up the ball, cut inside from the left wing and just kept going and going, advancing into the area and curling his shot beyond Bonham.
Stanley continued to create chances going close through substitute Mallik Wilks and McConville who was denied a hat-trick by the finger tips of Bonham.
