Accrington Stanley have appointed player ambassadors from the first team to liaise with the Community Trust and help drive community initiatives.
Each player will represent one of the Trust's 4 key themes and act as an ambassador and role model for the community.
The player ambassadors for the 2017/18 season are as follows:
Seamus Conneely - Education
Scott Brown- Sports Participation
Billy Kee- Health
Mark Hughes- Social Inclusion
Speaking about the PFA led scheme Seamus Conneely said ‘It is great to get out there and give something back to the community. We often go into schools helping deliver coaching and taking part in question and answer sessions. The children always look thrilled when a professional footballer comes into their school and it is great for us to engage with them. Myself and three other players are now acting as ambassadors for our club and we look forward to continuing our player appearances this season'.
The ambassadors will be the public figurehead of a number of different schemes run by the Community Trust and endorsed by the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA).
