Stanley Golf Day Success
Last week saw the club's inaugural ASFC Golf Day at Accrington Golf Club with fans, players and sponsors taking part in what was a great day.
Teams of 3 plus an ASFC player took part in the 18-hole competition. In glorious sunshine, a 1pm start took place following team registration and soup and sandwiches. The event finished with steak pie, chips and peas at the 19th hole!Northern Catering Company were overall winners of the team event with Howarth Timber worthy runners-up.
Winner of the longest drive went to Tom Longman with Scot Catterall collecting the prize for the Par 3 nearest to the pin.
Peter Leatham, Official Stanley Supporters Club said, “We all had a great day, superbly hosted by Accrington Golf Club and was thoroughly enjoyed by all that took part. We must especially thank the players for giving up their spare time and joining in with the action. Accrington Golf Club were great hosts and we would definitely look to go back again, bigger and better, next year.”
Daniel Bowerbank, Commercial Manager added, “It is always great to put on additional events throughout the season and meeting new and regular sponsors and businesses who took the time to play in the ASFC Golf Day. The feedback received from the event has been extremely positive and the standard of golf and competition was very high.
