John Coleman says he is expecting a tough game when Oldham Athletic visit the Wham Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
Stanley host the League One club with just two weeks to go until they begin league action at home Colchester United.
Coleman's men come into their fourth pre-season fixture off the back of a 3-2 defeat against Championship-side Preston on Wednesday.
But the Reds boss is once again looking forward to seeing his side come up against opponents from a higher division.
"They've got a strong side and a good manager in John Sheridan," said Coleman.
"For us it's going to be a big test of where we're at, but our primary focus is on getting everybody ready for the Colchester game in two weeks time.
"We're still doing a bit of experimenting but the main objective is getting game time into the players' legs. Hopefully we can come out of it that bit stronger and injury free.
"A lot of work has gone in on the training ground this week and you will probably see a more reflective output from the players in terms of what we're about and what we want to be doing out on the pitch."
Coleman is delighted that the club have confirmed the signing of forward Kayden Jackson from Barnsley.
Jackson impressed during his time on trial, playing three games, and Coleman says the club have managed to secure 'a really exciting prospect'.
“From the games he's been part of you can see he's got a good temperament," he said.
"He ticks every box that we need for players coming into Accrington, he hasn't thought twice about the move and he hasn't tried to play off interest from other clubs against us.
"We've brought a really exciting prospect to the club, he's quick, dedicated and he works hard. I think he's going to be a very valuable asset to us."
Kick off at the Wham Stadium tomorrow is 3pm with tickets priced at £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and just £1 for accompanied u12s.
