Sousa makes shortlist

2 December 2017

Accrington Stanley's Erico Sousa has made the shortlist for Checkatrade Trophy Player of the Round.

Sousa's sparkling performance during our 4-0 win at Wigan Athletic caught the eye and now fans can vote him as their Player of the Round.

The EFL press release reads:

"The Checkatrade Trophy Player of the Round competition gives fans the opportunity to vote for the player they feel shined in the third round of fixtures."The 22-year-old's only thought in the 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium was to run at, and run past, defenders. After providing a perfect cross for Stanley's first goal, he went on to score two himself, driving forward and unleashing an unstoppable low shot each time."Sousa joins Jack Byrne (Oldham Athletic), Jordan Graham (Fulham), Caleb Richards (Blackpool) and Scott Wagstaff (Gillingham) on the shortlist."

Fans have until 9am on Tuesday 5th December to register their votes for the award. To vote you need to visit: EFL.com/CheckatradeTrophyPOTR
