Coleman praises Chappy

29 August 2017

John Coleman praised keeper Aaron Chapman after he pulled off a string of ‘top class' saves in Friday's 2-2 draw at Notts County.

Chapman joined Stanley in 2016, after an initial loan spell from Chesterfield in 2014, and had to battle with Elliot Parish and Marek Rodak last season between the sticks.

The 27-year-old has started the season as the number one choice for the Reds and was Man of the Match at Meadow Lane, keeping Stanley in it before they secured a last gasp equaliser.

“He has made three world class saves at Notts County, took a couple of unbelievable catches, and he will only get better,” said Coleman.

“He has worked ever so hard to get fit this season and he is working on his decision making.”

Stanley had young keeper Kieran Wolland on the bench – the first time the youngster has been involved with the first team squad.
