John O'Sullivan was pleased to bag his first goal back in Stanley colours as the Reds ran out 2-0 winners at Notts County.
The Blackburn Rovers loanee set the ball rolling when his 16th minute shot looped up off a defender and over goalkeeper Adam Collin at Meadow Lane.
After the game the Irishman reflected on what he felt was a deserved victory for the visitors.
"Everyone is buzzing with the result," he said. "We've been talking about getting a clean sheet for ages now and it's been coming. We've been playing really well and not getting the results and we're happy to get the win, get the clean sheet and to have the chance to kick our season on.
"In the first half we just felt in control. They posed a few threats, particularly in the air, but football-wise I thought we were excellent. We got the goal and were delighted to go in on top.
"Second half we started a bit ropey but managed to battle and got in control again, got the second goal and ended up comfortable.
"There was a bit of luck to it but I needed that! I've been dying to score and sometimes what it takes is a bit of luck. If you shoot sometimes they go in and fortunately mine did. Hopefully I can go on from here and get more goals.
"We're looking forward to Portstmouth next week which is a good game for us and another chance to kick on from this win."
