Stanley v Newport

28 October 2016

The Reds return home tomorrow looking to extend their unbeaten run.

Newport County make the trip from south Wales looking to start a climb off the bottom of the table.[vc_tta_accordion][vc_tta_section title="The Reds" tab_id="1470411712017-30fe7d0e-41fa"]It's a team looking up at the promotion places against a side looking to climb off the foot of the table at the Wham Stadium but it's far from that simple.

Currently in a play-off place Stanley will be keen to add to their last gasp win over Blackpool last time out at home but the Exiles will look to build on a midweek point against Barnet.

County have a good record against the Reds and will be keen for that to continue.

They'll be looking to rediscover their goalscoring touch this weekend though after drawing a blank for the first time in seven at Crawley.

Stanley remain seventh in League Two, six points behind the automatic places.[/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion]

Team News

A couple of players have been receiving treatment for routine knocks this week but nothing is expected to be too serious.

Captain Seamus Conneely is available again after serving his one match ban.

That means John Coleman faces a tough selection in the centre of midfield with a number of options available.[vc_tta_accordion][vc_tta_section title="The Opposition" tab_id="1470412818546-8d7f7dab-f030"]It's been a tough start to the season for Newport, who find themselves bottom of League Two ahead of the game.

Their poor start led to the departure of manager Warren Feeney earlier this season.

He had led them to 22nd last season.

Now under the management of Graham Westley they'll be keen to climb the table starting by winning at a ground where they've never lost.[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="Manager" tab_id="1470412819079-79ad13b3-86a8"]Graham Westley is a familiar face to Stanley fans having faced his teams numerous times when he was manager of Farnborough Town and Stevenage.

During his playing career, Westley played for a number of clubs including QPR, Barnet, Gillingham and Wycombe Wanderers.

He started his managerial career Farnborough but is remembered for his successful spell at Stevenage where he guided them to the Conference National title in 2010 before beating Stanley in the play-offs in 2011 and securing promotion to League One.

He moved onto Peterborough and Preston before becoming manager of Newport earlier this month.[/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion]
