GTF signs until January

17 October 2016

Gary Taylor-Fletcher has signed for Accrington Stanley until January.

The 35-year-old had signed on non-contract terms for the Reds but has now put pen to paper on a deal until January 2017.

“We felt we needed more attacking options,” said manager John Coleman. “Terry Gornell and Billy Kee are both carrying injuries and they are our main focal point.

“The rest of our attacking options are more number 10s and, although Gary may see himself in the number 10 role, he did really well at Chesterfield for us and I was impressed with him when he came on on Saturday against Blackpool.

“Gary knows the game, he can use the ball and he can chip in with goals. He has also settled in really easily so that helps.”

Former Huddersfield, Blackpool and Leicester striker Taylor-Fletcher said: “It's been a whirlwind few weeks really but I have come in, played against Chesterfield and really enjoyed it.

“I have signed until January and that gives us both a chance to have a longer look at each other. It puts me in the shop window so if I do well, I get an extension here or I get a move to another club - but I am enjoying it here.  They are a great bunch of lads and at my age, I want to be somewhere where I am enjoying it and playing and, if it's here, that's great.”
