Stanley v Stevenage

18 November 2016

The Reds return home tomorrow looking to return to winning ways.

Stevenage are the visitors as Stanley look for three valuable home points.[vc_tta_accordion][vc_tta_section title="The Reds" tab_id="1470411712017-30fe7d0e-41fa"]After away games in three competitions brought mixed results the Reds return to the Wham Stadium looking to start a new run of form in the league.

It's a repeat of the final game of last season when a 0-0 draw against Stevenage wasn't enough for Stanley to be promoted automatically.

Now Boro return, with John Coleman's side keen to put a few demons to rest with all three points.[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="Form" tab_id="1470411712406-ac66af5e-34eb"]The Reds have gone two games without a win in all competitions and haven't won a league game since beating Blackpool at the Wham Stadium last month.

The last two league games, against Newport and Luton, have ended in defeat.

John Coleman's side are 11th in League Two, just two points from the play-off places.[/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion]

Team News

Shay McCartan has returning to training after receiving the all clear from medics following being taken ill at Bradford.

Striker Billy Kee is also back in the fold following illness.

A number of players, including Zak Vyner and John O'Sullivan, remain doubtful through injury.

Janoi Donacien is definitely out as he needs surgery.[vc_tta_accordion][vc_tta_section title="The Opposition" tab_id="1470412818546-8d7f7dab-f030"]After being tipped for promotion under Teddy Sheringham last season, the campaign turned out to be one rubbing shoulders with a relegation battle for Boro.

Darren Sarrl stepped up to replace Sheringham and led the club to an 18th placed finish.

This time round hopes must be to improve on that and Stevenage arrive in Lancashire 20th but only four points from the top seven.[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="Manager" tab_id="1470412819079-79ad13b3-86a8"]Darren Sarll was given the Stevenage job on a permanent base after being caretaker from February last season and guiding Stevenage to an 18th placed finish.

The 32-year old has held the UEFA A License badge for over 10 years and was Head of Youth at Stevenage, overseeing the transformation of the youth structure, from 2012. He was promoted to first team coach under Teddy Sheringham in 2015.

Now in his second spell at the club, Sarll has also worked at Brentford and Rotherham United.[/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion]
