Accrington Stanley have completed the emergency loan signing of Andy Little from Preston North End.
The striker will stay at the Wham Stadium until the end of the season.
Little has been capped eight times by Northern Ireland and recently spent time on loan at League One side Blackpool.
“He's someone I've monitored for a long time,” revealed Stanley boss John Coleman. “When he was breaking through at Rangers I tried to sign him but then he had a purple patch and scored a lot of goals and that put him out of my ball park to be honest.
“He's suffered with injuries this year so this is a chance for him to get some football and get himself back on track. When you've not played for while you just want to play and I think the exposure to the first team he'll get will do him good.”
Little will take the number nine shirt at the Wham Stadium and goes into the squad for tomorrow's home game with Leyton Orient.
He's hoping to help the Reds get themselves into League One come May.
“The boys are very upbeat and there's a really big chance of automatic promotion,” said the 26-year-old. “Having spoken to the manager I know that is the aim and the boys are confident they can do it. If and when I'm needed I hope that I can help to make the difference.”
