9 December 2016

It's a back to league business tomorrow for Stanley after a break for FA Cup matters.

The Reds head south looking to bring their cup form into League Two as they take on Leyton Orient.[vc_tta_accordion][vc_tta_section title="The Reds" tab_id="1470411712017-30fe7d0e-41fab72e-6c49658d-0122"]The traditional Christmas period is about to begin, with Stanley kicking off a busy period with a trip to Leyton Orient.

The focus from now until January is on League Two, presenting a great chance to climb the table.

After a long awaited win at Woking last time out the players will head south with confidence boosted and looking to follow it up with league points.[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="Form" tab_id="1470411712406-ac66af5e-34ebb72e-6c49658d-0122"]The Reds are now unbeaten in two after a 1-1 league draw with Yeovil and a 3-0 FA Cup victory at Woking.

Their last league win was in mid-October over Blackpool, with three points now a top priority.

John Coleman's side are currently 20th in League Two, three points better off than their hosts.[/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion]

Team News

Goalkeeper Elliot Parish is a major doubt after jarring his knee in the warm up at Kingfield on Sunday.

If he's unavailable John Coleman could draft in a young keeper from the under 18's as cover.

Zak Vyner has continued to undergo tests with parent club Bristol City after missing last weekend's cup tie and Janoi Donacien remains ruled out.[vc_tta_accordion][vc_tta_section title="The Opposition" tab_id="1470411712017-30fe7d0e-41fab72e-6c49f96c-5bea"]It's been a difficult season so far for Orient, who find themselves lower down the table than many expected and already on their third manager of the campaign.

Andy Hessenthaler started the season but a run of poor results saw him depart, only for his replacement Alberto Cavasin to leave after a short spell in charge.

They're currently 22nd in League Two, outside the bottom two on goal difference, and have lost their last three matches.[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="Manager" tab_id="1470411712406-ac66af5e-34ebb72e-6c49f96c-5bea"]Andy Edwards was appointed assistant manager in the summer after assisting then caretaker Andy Hessenthaler for the final six games of the 2015-16 campaign.

During his 18-year playing career, Edwards made over 250 appearances for Peterborough United and 200 for Southend United, before joining the Academy staff at the O's and working his way up to become Academy Director before making the move up to the first team on a permanent basis in the summer.

Edwards was placed in interim charge following the sacking of Andy Hessenthaler in September before reverting back to the assistant manager role under Alberto Cavasin, however, was appointed first team manager on November 23, 2016 after Cavasin was dismissed.[/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion]
