John Coleman is hoping it will be the stylish Stanley which turns up against Burnley tomorrow and his side will not repeat the disappointing show against Exeter.
Stanley lost 2-1 to the Grecians – who hadn't picked up a point prior to Saturday – and Coleman admitted it was painful to watch at times.
However just five days earlier in a 1-1 draw at Wycombe, the Reds boss had hailed his side's best performance of the season.
“It's frustrating at the moment,” said Coleman. “I have watched the Exeter game again and we could and should have won.
“If we play Exeter another nine times, I am sure we will win all nine times.
“I have tried to press home to the players that these games aren't dress rehearsals, and to realise the importance of every three points as you never get them back.
“Once Exeter got their noses in front, they looked like they wanted it more. If we had upped the tempo when we got it back level, I am sure we would have gone on to win the game.
“We had a lot of possession but it's not about possession. I have got to speak to the players and educate them and improve their mindset. They seem to think things will just happen if they think about them – they have got to make them happen.
“We have got to realise the importance of each game and we have got to seize each and every opportunity.
"I believe, if we play to our best, we can beat Burnley and we will be giving it our best shot."
Midfielder Scott Brown and striker Terry Gornell will miss the EFL Cup clash against the Premier League Clarets with injury while Chris Eagles is battling to be fit against his former club. Shay McCartan returned to training on Monday.
