Arron Davies is calling for Stanley to build on their midweek display at Wycombe with a win over his former club Exeter tomorrow.
The midfielder came into the team a late replacement for Scott Brown at Adams Park as the Reds drew 1-1.
He saw plenty of positive signs from the performance.
“We were more committed, we put our bodies on the line and we did the nitty gritty well,” said the Welshman. “We were strong on the flanks and opened them up with John O'Sullivan and Sean (McConville) and Janoi (Donacien).
“We needed a reaction after Saturday and we got it. A lesser team could have felt sorry for themselves after we went a goal behind at Wycombe after five minutes but, for us, it was the opposite.”
Davies will be reunited with the club he left in the summer to join Stanley and he's looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.
“I can't speak highly enough of Exeter,” explained the 32-year-old. “I loved my time there, they did well for me and I would like to think I did well for them, it's a lovely club.
"I had a lot of good messages from the staff when I left there and still speak to a lot of their players daily.
“I know the manager Paul Tisdale inside out and the way he works and vice versa.
“So early in the season, it is a bit weird playing against them but my aim will to be get one over on them.”
