John Coleman is playing a waiting game as he keep his fingers crossed over the fitness of his strikers.
Billy Kee and Shay McCartan both missed the weekend trip to Barnet through injury, with Terry Gornell limping off early at the Hive only for his replacement Rommy Boco to also have to be replaced.
The manager is waiting for the medical staff to let him know who will be available to make the trip to Wycombe tomorrow.
“We'll have to assess them in training but I don't think Terry will be fit,” said Coleman. “The other two have every chance and I think Rommy should be fit.
“Billy's shoulder isn't a problem now, it's just his general fitness because he's missed two weeks. We'll take a look at that today and see how he is.
“We have a decent enough squad but we did pick up another couple of injuries on Saturday but the idea of having a healthy squad is to be able to cover for things like that.”
Saturday's defeat ended with defender Matty Pearson playing up front and Coleman will continue to improvise and use alternatives if necessary rather than bring anyone in.
“If you play with a cutting edge and your skilful players and your matchwinners can get on the ball then of course you can play without a recognised centre forward,” he explained. Whether that's wise or not is a different kettle of fish.
“We've got good players and if we can get those good players playing well then we can cause teams problems. Our good players didn't play well on Saturday. They don't set out to do that, we have to build their confidence up and give them ideas of what they can do to improve.
“We can't just keep racking up players. Eventually that will catch up with you. I think three centre forwards is probably enough to carry in the squad. If you had more and a couple not playing it would be difficult to keep hold of them. It's just unfortunate that all three have been injured at the same time.”
