Trio deserve credit: Coley

21 April 2016

John Coleman is delighted that three of his team made the top ten in the SkyBet League Two players of the season as voted by managers - but said there could have been more.

Josh Windass came in 10th, Billy Kee seventh and Matt Crooks fourth as the League Two managers each voted for their top five players - Oxford's Kemar Roofe won it.

"You don't need anyone else to tell you that you have got good players," said Coleman.

"They would be in my top ten and a couple more as well but I will bet my house that won't be the order when it comes to our own Player of the Year awards. It tells you that people have different perspectives.

"Saying that the three have had smashing this season and it's nice to get recognised by the people but you don't get anything for it.

"I am more concerned they play well for us and continue to play well for us. They have been fantastic and let's hope they can see it out."

Coleman chose his five - you couldn't pick from your own team - each of which appeared in the top 10.

"Certain players stand out but I must admit I only look at the opposition players when analysing them when they play against us but don't really take a lot of notice week to week unless they come up against us.

"I know the strengths of my own players and know we have some of the best players in the league that's for sure.

"When it come to our Player of the Year though I think there will be more in contention than just those three."
