22 April 2016

The penultimate home game of the season sees Stanley host York City at the Wham Stadium.

The home side are eyeing League One, with the visitors haunted by the spectre of Conference football.[vc_accordion][vc_accordion_tab title="The Opposition"]

York have been back in the Football League since 2012 when they beat Luton Town in the Conference play-off final.

They were League Two play-off semi-finalists in 2014 but were beaten by Fleetwood Town and have since been in the bottom half of the table.

They finished 18th last season and parted company with manager Russ Wilcox in November with Jackie McNamara replacing him at the helm.

Their struggles have continued though and they find themselves in the bottom two ahead of kick off.[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title="Manager"]

York City announced the appointment of Jackie McNamara as manager in November 2015.

The former Celtic defender had previously managed Partick Thistle and Dundee United.

The 42-year-old arrived at Bootham Crescent alongside former Scotland team-mate Simon Donnelly who became his assistant for a third time.

During a career which spanned two decades, McNamara played for six different clubs, including his longest and most successful spell at Celtic.

He made over 250 league appearances for the Scottish giants from 1995-2005 winning a host of titles and trophies, many under the management of Martin O'Neill.[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title="One to Watch"]Striker Fewster is on loan from Middlesbrough, originally signing a one month loan deal in November.

The 19-year-old made his way up through the ranks at Boro before signing his first professional contract with the club in 2014 and has also experienced a loan spell with Championship outfit Preston North End before joining York.

He has eight goals so this season for York and is also an Under 19 England international.[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title="Form Guide"][vc_text_separator title="Stanley: WDWDW" color="juicy_pink"]Stanley are unbeaten in nine matches following the midweek win at Hartlepool United.

The Reds have drawn three of their last four home games but have only lost once at the Wham Stadium since October.

John Coleman's team are second in the League Two, a point ahead of fourth placed Plymouth Argyle.[vc_text_separator title="York: LDDLW" color="juicy_pink"]The Minstermen won for the first time since 16th February when they beat Portsmouth in midweek.

They've only lost one of their last four, drawing the other two.

McNamara's men will be relegated if they fail to win and could still go down even if they take three points depending on other results.[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title="Stanley Team News"]The game comes too soon for Scott Brown, with the midfielder receiving treatment for a hamstring problem but hopeful of a return to training next week.

Fellow midfielder Matt Crooks also remains sidelined with an ankle problem though Joe Wright has returned to the squad after injury.[/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title="Admission Details"]
