Loan watch

22 October 2015

A catch-up with the Stanley players currently away from The Wham Stadium.

Marcus Carver (Chorley)

Marcus Carver came off the bench and scored as Chorley drew 2-2 with Hednesford Town last Saturday. After a goalless first half, Hednesford took the lead through Adam Thomas on 63 minutes.

Carver entered the action three minutes later and equalised on 79 minutes when he capitalised on a defensive error to tap home. Chorley then took the lead two minutes later, before Hednesford grabbed a late equaliser to ensure the spoils were shared.

The point means Chorley sit 10th in the National League North and only five points off the play-off places.

Chorley face Northwich Vicoria in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round on Friday 23rd October looking to secure a place in the First Round Proper for the first time in over 20 years.

 Liam Goulding (Ashton United)

Liam Goulding played 90 minutes on his debut for Ashton United as they beat Halesowen Town last weekend. After the Robins had fallen behind, they battled back and two second half goals were enough to hand them victory.

Ashton were back in action on Tuesday evening as they travelled to Blyth Spartans and the centre half put in another impressive performance as Ashton secured a point. After the visitors had taken a first half lead, Blyth equalised after the interval.

The draw leaves Ashton in 15th in the Evo Stik Northern Premier and  host Stamford this weekend.

Jack Phillips (Skelmersdale)

After missing out on Skelmersdale's 2-2 draw with Grantham Town at the weekend, Jack Phillips returned to the squad to face Buxton on Tuesday night.

Skelmersdale recovered from the disappointing draw to beat Buxton 2-1, with Phillips playing 68 minutes on his return. After racing into a two-goal lead early in the first half, Skelmersdale conceded just before the break to set up a nervy second period. The hosts were able to withstand Buxton's second half pressure to seal a win which lifted them to 16th in the Evo Stik Northern Premier.

Phillips will hope to secure another start when Skelmersdale travel to Halesowen Town on Saturday.
