Matty Pearson celebrated his first league goal as Stanley got back on track with a 3-1 win over Dagenham yesterday.
Defender Pearson rose to thump home Stanley's second goal on the stroke of half time after Seamus Conneely had give the Reds a second minute lead.
Josh Windass headed home the third on 49 minutes before Nyron Nosworthy scored a consolation for the Daggers.
"I have scored goals in the Conference but this was my first league goal," said the 22-year-old. "To be honest as soon as I headed it I knew it was going into the back of the net.
"It was needed as, after we had gone ahead so early, we had more chances and we do need to be more clinical. We weren't clinical enough against Plymouth and, if we had been more clinical against Dagenham, we could have won by five or six.
"While I was happy to score I was frustrated we didn't keep a clean sheet. We haven't kept a clean sheet for ages and it's not good enough."
Pearson admitted it had been hard after back-to-back defeats but the players dug deep to make sure they got back on track.
"We have all rallied together. We had to come together as a squad to put it right. We had two defeats and we did not want a third and we had to break that run and turn it around.
"The win was needed to keep us in the play-offs. We have our sights set high and we believe we can challenge at the top so we have got to try and go on another run now."
Pearson admitted he has had to be adaptable across the back line with injuries hampering the Reds. It was worse with Adam Buxton limping off early in the game yesterday and sub Antony Barry hobbling off near the end.
"The injuries have been hard as we have been mixing it up in the last few games and haven't been as settled as we were at the start.
"We have had to adapt, we have been struggling with players, but we have had a squad of players and thankfully we put it right yesterday."
