Girls Futsal Cup!

30 November 2015

Accrington Stanley Community Trust hosted its first ever Girls Futsal Cup event at Accrington Academy on Thursday 26th November.

The Kinder + Sport Futsal Cup, part of Ferrero's global Kinder + Sport project, is a new schools competition for Under 16  Girls run by the Football League Trust.   Local competitions, organised by Football League Clubs throughout England and Wales, have taken place this month seeing thousands of Year 10 and 11 students battle it out to represent their local club at area and then regional finals.

Several local schools competed for the chance to represent Accrington Stanley in the Regional  Finals.

All schools turned up with positive attitudes and high intensions to win. To most of the girls Futsal was new, however overlooking some of the games the girls picked the rules up very quickly. We had positive feedback from those that took part. Well done to all of the teams that entered the tournament. Congratulations to All Saints 3rd Mount Carmel 2nd.

A Huge Congratulations goes to The Hollins Technology College who will be representing us in the Regional Finals in January. Our Female Football Development Officer Amy Bland explains 'its great to see girls taking part in competitive football hopefully many of them will be inspired to stay involved with football as they grow up'
