John Coleman expects Tranmere to move out of the relegation spots - but hopes they do it after Saturday.
Stanley travel to Prenton Park on Saturday aiming to move closer to the play-off positions while Rovers are struggling at the wrong end of the table in second-from-bottom spot.
Rookie manager Rob Edwards was in the Tranmere hotseat at the start of the season but he left in October and Micky Adams took over in the same month.
However they are still in the midst of a relegation battle, with five wins in their 24 League Two matches so far.
"I know Rob Edwards and, when he took over, he tried to install a style of football, and they played attractive football. I know they played well when they came to Accrington earlier in the season," said Coleman, with the win over Rovers Stanley's first of the 2014/15 campaign
"But it's about results. If Rob had got more time, they might have come, but his tenure was ended and Micky Adams has taken over and Micky knows football, especially the lower leagues, inside out.
"They are a decent side and a big club with a good following and I think they are in a false position. I believe they won't end up in that position at the end of the season although we hope we can dent them a little bit on Saturday."
Tranmere have just signed ex-Red Lee Molyneux who was on loan at Stanley up until a week ago from Crewe - his third spell with Stanley - but has now left the Railwaymen and signed a deal with Rovers.
"There has been a bit of banter flying around and that's the relationship we have with Lee," said Coleman.
"Lee decided to end his contract with Crewe and we couldn't give him the wages he wanted.
"There is no animosity. By his own admission, he would have liked to have played better in his time here recently but he is a good professional, he has a good head on his shoulders and he has a fantastic left foot which we hope doesn't hurt us."
Coleman reports a clean bill of health with Arsenal loan keeper Matt Macey set for his Stanley debut and defender Adam Buxton getting closer to match-fitness.
Buxton came through a behind-closed-doors friendly with Preston on Monday and will hopefully be in contention for a first team spot soon.
"Bucko is loving the challenge of getting fit and he will be like a new signing when he returns," added Coleman.
