New Stanley signing Gerardo Bruna is looking forward to the opportunity to play regular league football after completing his move to the Store First Stadium.
The 24-year-old has agreed a deal until the end of the season after a period training with the Reds.
The Argentina youth international last tasted Football League life during a spell at Blackpool having left Liverpool but is delighted to get another chance.
“It's really good to sign here,” explained the winger. “I've been training here for a couple of weeks and I've enjoyed it. Unfortunately the team has lost the last few games but hopefully I can help the team try to get a few wins.
“I think it will help that I now know the players. Obviously I know them and they know me and what I can give to the team. I think that's a good thing for me.”
Bruna will go straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Plymouth Argyle and though he's realistic about his prospects of making immediate waves he's hopeful of winning a place in the side.
“This is a good opportunity for me to start playing games and play as many games as I can,” he said. “Hopefully after a while the manager will want to play me and when he decides that I want to play as many games as I can.”
After starting his life in South America and coming through the ranks at Real Madrid and Liverpool you might expect League Two to be something of a culture shock but after also sampling non-league football, Bruna is happy to be here.
“I've been surprised since I had the opportunity to come here,” he continued. “I think it's a good club. Obviously I was at Madrid and Liverpool when I was young but I'm here to play football and enjoy my football.
“Hopefully I can do that here for Accrington.”
