Stanley defender Tom Davies is keen to put Luton's stoppage time equaliser in the past by causing a Capital One Cup shock against Hull.
The Reds had been on course for an opening day win against the fancied Hatters, only for the visitors to level in the 92nd minute at the Wham Stadium.It was a big day for Davies, making both his Stanley and Football League debut and he admitted it was not the way he would want to remember it.
“Before the game I was obviously really excited as this is something I've wanted to do for a while and then after the game was just the complete opposite,” he explained. “There was a bitter taste in the mouth, feeling like we'd done enough to win the game but switching off in the last few minutes and knowing that cost us.
“It's not the result that we wanted. They are going to be up there come the end of the season and we might look back on this come the end of the season as a point gained but at the moment it just feels like two lost. It's not what I wanted from my Football League debut and not what we wanted from the opening game.
“I think it will do us good to get out onto the pitch as soon as possible. The thing you look forward to the most is a competitive 90 minutes on the pitch so I'm looking forward to Tuesday. It will be another really good test. They're going to be a good team but we're a good team and I see no reason why we can't beat them.
“It's a chance to test ourselves against a team that was very recently in the Premier League. They'll have plenty of knowhow and so it's exciting for us to test ourselves against them but as I say, I see no reason why we can't get through to the next round.
“It seems to be the way that Accrington are underestimated. We showed against Luton that we are no pushovers, we should have had three points and we think we'll do alright this season. Anyone who comes here will get a good game and Hull will find it no different.”
