Community Player Ambassadors

27 August 2015

Accrington Stanley have appointed 4 player ambassadors from the first team to liaise with the Community Trust and help drive community initiatives. Each player will represent a key theme and act as an ambassador and role model for the community.

The player ambassadors are as follows:

Matt Crooks- Education

Andrew Procter- Sports Participation

Billy Kee- Health

Terry Gornell- Social Inclusion

Speaking about the PFA led scheme Accrington Stanley Legend Andrew Procter said ‘It is great to get out there and give something back to the community. We often go into schools helping deliver coaching sessions and taking part in question and answer sessions. The children always look thrilled when a professional footballer comes into their school and it is great for us toengage with them. I and three other players are now acting as ambassadors for our club and we look forward to continuing our player appearances this season'.

The ambassadors will be the public figurehead of a number of different schemes run by the Community Trust and endorsed by the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA).
