Loan Review

26 November 2014

As ever, it has been a busy week of non-league action for Stanley's loanees.

Striker George Bowerman played a crucial role for Stourbridge as they picked up a huge win against FC United of Manchester.

The former Walsall man set up the opening goal in a 2-1 success for the Glassboys but there was no repeat on Tuesday night as the Midlands side fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Barwell, with Bowerman playing 65 minutes before being substituted

This weekend, the Reds face a tough test away at third-placed Buxton, hoping to close the five-point gap between themselves and the play-offs.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Andrew Dawber starred for Clitheroe after extending his loan deal until the end of the season as they picked up a valuable point away at league leaders Darlington 1883.

The game was in doubt due to the inclement weather conditions in the North East but a last-minute equaliser made the long trip a worthwhile one for the Blues.

They are at home to Mossley this weekend where a win would see them leapfrog their opponents and move into the top half of the table.

Liam Goulding completed the full 90 minutes for Belper Town as they fell to a 4-1 defeat against Nantwich Town, a result which leaves the Nailers propping up the EvoStik Northern Premier.

They can climb from the bottom on Saturday afternoon, should they beat Marine in their relegation six-pointer. The Liverpool-based side are second from bottom so this is a vital game for Goulding and his team.
