Accrington Stanley first team players Michael Liddle and George Miller attended a girl's football session at Mount Carmel High School run by our Community Trust.
Both players took part in a question and answer session with the students followed by some advice and coaching.
The students were delighted to be able to ask questions to two professional footballers and find out some interesting answers, increasing their knowledge of the professional game.
Stanley Midfielder George Miller said ‘It is great to get out and about in the community and do our part to promote the football club. There were some great questions from the girls and myself and Michael enjoyed our time at the school'.
Michael Liddle added ‘The session ran very well and it is great to be able to give something back to the community. Passing on our advice to young people is something I feel is important as many children in the area look up to us as role models'.
The session at Mount Carmel was part of Accrington Stanley Community Trust's popular girl's football programme that launched back in November 2013.
Due to the initial outstanding work that has been carried out by the Community Trust with this programme, the Football League have upgraded us from a Level 1 project to a Level 2. This sees an increase in funding meaning we are able to go into even more schools delivering girls football.
