Stanley manager James Beattie wants a big derby day atmosphere to help his team take three points from tomorrow's game with local rivals Bury.
Just one league point and a handful of miles separate the two sides, who meet at the Store First Stadium looking to climb further away from the relegation places.
“It's a big game,” said Beattie. “It's the closest football club to us in the division.
“We're trying to drum up some interest and get a big crowd down.
“Hopefully the weather will be kind to us but obviously we can't affect that, but it's a good game for us to play.”
The Reds go into the game buoyed by last weekend's win at Cheltenham Town and will be looking to make amends for their last home outing when they were denied all three points by a last minute Newport equaliser.
“Away from home we've won four out of our last six which is a great record,” explained Beattie. “We just need to translate that form to the Store First Stadium.
“We've had a couple of results where teams have scored in the last minute. The lads have put so much effort in to try to get a result and just to see it go to waste at the end is very hard for me to see and for them to take.
“I don't like them being disappointed, I want them to enjoy the results they deserve. Barring a few individual errors we've addressed, hopefully those results will come.”
Beattie could hand a second Stanley debut to Lee Molyneux after he completed a month long loan move from Crewe but could stick with the side that picked up a morale boosting win at the Abbey Business Stadium.
“The lads will be full of confidence after getting a fantastic result down at Cheltenham,” he continued. “We've been working this week towards playing a Bury side who have seen a few players come and go.
“They've got a big squad and I think they might be coming here hoping to get a result but they'll be facing stiff opposition and a team that's got that determination and fight now and has toughened up a lot over the last few weeks.
“We're showing some very good signs and hopefully the lads can go out there and do themselves justice and get a result.”
