John Coleman refused to be downbeat after his side lost to Yeovil in the FA Cup second round replay.
Late goals from Simon Gillett and Kieffer Moore secured the 2-0 victory at Huish Park but it was agony for Stanley after Shay McCartan hit the underside of the crossbar and Matt Crooks missed the follow-up prior to the Glovers scoring.
It means Yeovil will now face Manchester United in the third round on January 4th while Stanley will travel to Exeter the day before in League Two action.
"I am disappointed but not disheartened. We gave it out best shot but unfortunately someone had to lose," said the Reds boss.
"It felt like a cup final and both teams were edgy and I think the way the game got closed down it suited them more than it suited us.
"It got stretched in the second half and we opened them up a few times but it wasn't to be our day.
"We hit the underside of the crossbar and missed the follow-up, the keeper makes an unbelievable save from Shay and I don't know how Andy Procter has missed one chance.
"But when it's not your night, it's not your night. Even the most ardent Yeovil fan wouldn't disagree that we were the better team over the two legs but congratulations to Yeovil, I hope they enjoy their day in the sun against Manchester United.
"I am proud of the players and proud of the way they gave it their all. What we have got to do now is use it as our motivation to try and take their place in League One."
