Peter Shaw has stepped down from the Board of Accrington Stanley for personal reasons.
Peter has been a director of the club for several years and is the club's Vice-Chairman.
Along with Ilyas Khan, Peter Shaw played a prominent role in ASSF which was determined to make the club more accountable, transparent and better run. All this was played out in the unhappy days of the SOS era.
In recognition of all that Peter (a retired textiles executive) has done for the club, we are pleased that Peter has agreed to become Honorary Life Vice-President.
Chairman Peter Marsden said: “Peter Shaw is a person of the utmost integrity, charm and warmth. I am sure that even though he is no longer a member of the main Board, Peter and his wife Maureen will continue to take a strong interest in all things Accrington Stanley and will be regular attendees on matchdays and will continue to represent the club."
