Loan Review

17 December 2014

George Bowerman was the only Stanley loanee in action for their temporary club this week as Stourbridge beat Kings Lynn Town 3-0 in the EvoStik Northern Premier Division.

The striker scored the second goal for the Glassmen, exchanging passes with Josh Morgan-Parker and curling the ball into the bottom corner on the stroke of half-time.

Bowerman's strike was sandwiched by goals from William Richards and Morgan-Parker as Stourbridge moved to within two points of a play-off spot.

The striker was rested completely for the Birmingham Senior Cup First Round tie at home to Rushall Olympic on Tuesday night as a youthful Stourbridge side lost 5-3 after extra time.

Next up for the Reds is a trip to mid-table outfit Whitby Town.

The rest of Stanley's loan stars had a weekend off thanks to the wintry weather.

Will Hatfield was meant to participate in the FA Trophy First Round for FC Halifax Town away at Worcester City, but a frozen pitch saw the match called off. The replay takes place next week with the winners hosting Alfreton Town in the Second Round.

The Shaymen's next match is at home on Saturday as they host a struggling Nuneaton outfit in the hope of closing the three-point gap between themselves and the Conference play-off places.

Belper Town's home game with Frickley Athletic in the EvoStik Northern Premier also fell victim to a frozen pitch whilst Clitheroe's clash with Farsley AFC in the EvoStik First Division North suffered the same fate, leaving Liam Goulding and Andrew Dawber without a game.

The pair should be well-rested for their matches this weekend as bottom of the table Belper travel to take on play-off chasers Ashton United and Clitheroe are also on the road, making the trip to struggling Prescot Cables on Saturday afternoon.
