Youth Preview - Stanley v Carlisle

15 November 2013

This Saturday Stanley's youngsters host Carlisle for the second time in as many weeks at the Store First Stadium (11am KO). The game comes 10 days after the Reds' 3-1 cup win over the Cumbrians in the FA Youth Cup (6th November).

Stanley had no game last weekend and will be eager to face Carlisle again, this time with 3 points at stake in the Youth Alliance. Stanley's last league game was a win and another 3-1 scoreline when they made the trip to Morecambe at the start of the month. The Red's will hope this weekend makes it 3 wins in as many games as they aim to climb the Youth Alliance table, as high as 8th if results go their way.

Alternatively, Carlisle have been in action since the cup game, suffering a 3-1 loss at the hands of Bury. Carlisle's last win was over a month ago when they beat York City 2-0 in the Youth Alliance Cup and their last league win was back in September, a 4-0 win over Morecambe.

Keith Brown was proud of the team's cup progression but also stressed the importance of every game. “It is an important cup but we take every game like a cup game, we feel it is important to keep developing and we like to keep winning games.” He also added “We are a team that are together, we have a good bond and the players want to win together.”
