Stanley Appoint PFA Player Ambassadors

16 December 2013

Accrington Stanley have appointed four player ambassadors from the first team to liaise with the Community Trust and help drive community initiatives.

Each player will represent a key theme and act as an ambassador and role model for the community.

The player ambassadors are as follows:

Luke Joyce – Social Inclusion

Peter Murphy – Sports Participation

Dean Winnard – Health

Nicky Hunt – Education

Speaking about the PFA led scheme Accrington Stanley Captain Luke Joyce said "It is great to get out there and give something back to the community. We often go into schools helping deliver coaching sessions and taking part in question and answer sessions. The children always look thrilled when a professional footballer comes into their school and it is great for us to engage with them. I and three other players are now acting as ambassadors for our club and we look forward to continuing our player appearances this season"

The ambassadors will be the public figurehead of a number of different schemes run by the Community Trust and endorsed by the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA).
