After joining the club in January 2015, Seamus Conneely was handed the armband during the 2015/16 season.
He arrived at the Wham Stadium from Sligo Rovers, where he had previously worked under John Coleman.
The former Republic of Ireland youth international began his career in his native country with Galway United, before getting a move to England with Sheffield United.
During his time in East Lancashire, Conneely has made over 250 appearances for the Reds and lifted the Sky Bet League Two title in 2018.
